SaniPlan - a performance improvement planning tool is a comprehensive decision-support tool that facilitates preparation of citywide sanitation plan. The tool facilitates development of a financially viable plan of action for improvements in water supply, sanitation and solid waste management services.
A trimmed down version of the SANIPLAN, SaniPlan Lite - FSM is specific to developing Faecal Sludge Management Plan in cities.
SaniPlan Dashboard allows decision-makers to choose and compare different sanitation options. It facilitates stakeholder consultation and supports evidence-based decision making.
SaniPlan Comparison Dashboard enables selection across: a) toilet coverage, b) wastewater management and c) financing and compare their impacts on a) expenditure requirements, b) service performance, and c) financial implications. SaniPlan Dashboard for IFSM enables easy selection across a) Toilet option, b) Conveyance regime c) Treatment technology and d) Financing mechanism and compare their impacts on a) expenditure requirements, b) service performance, and c) financial implications. Various manuals and guides have been prepared to help users with SaniPlan. A three-part manual details the SaniPlan approach gives step-by-step guidance and describes a case study using SaniPlan. A video on how to use the tool has been prepared. We have prepared an example application of the SaniPlan tool. This demonstration tool is to help users gauge the range of applications that the tool can be used for. It also describes in detail how the impact of each improvement action on service levels and ULB finances can be analysed.
