Water resource management
Water is a scarce resource that is becoming scarcer. Cities in India need proper water resource management through reduce, recycle and reuse. This includes assessment of own water resource, optimal utilisation of water, recycle and reuse of wastewater resources, reviving traditional water sources and reducing demand of the water from consumer side.
CWAS has developed guidelines and tools that can be used in cities for preparing a water security plan. Water security toolkit is useful for local governments, NGOs and civil society groups championing the cause of urban water security. CWAS has documented participatory urban groundwater management.
