State Sanitation

We support state governments in scaling up inclusive citywide sanitation service delivery and ensuring that safe sanitation services are provided across the sanitation service chain. We support in developing policies and programmes for state-wide scale-up of open defecation free cities and FSSM services across cities along with a strategy and investment plan for phase-wise implementation to ensure sustainability.

In this context, we have been working with the Government of Maharashtra in the implementation of the Swacch Maharashtra Mission for Urban Areas (SMMUA). We provide technical, advisory, monitoring and implementation assistance to both SMMUA and ULBs of Maharashtra. The learnings from this work have helped inform policies and guidelines at National level.

Open Defecation Free

We supported in development of Open Defecation Free (ODF) framework for cities of Maharashtra.
