Services for urban slums

In the context of equitable service delivery, CWAS believes that there is a need to focus on slums. CWAS conducted various surveys of slum settlements. These have provided good insights on access to water and sanitation services for slum dwellers.

At the city and community level, CWAS has studied gaps as well as opportunities to improve service provision. . Studies have been done for slums of Mumbai on water and sanitation provision.

Equity assessment

To identify gaps, get insights and provide suitable suggestions on water and sanitation services in urban slums, CWAS conducted various state-level surveys for equity assessment in Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Slum free city action plan

Ahmedabad is one of the few cities in India who intend to create provisions for water and sanitation services in urban slums.

To assess issues related to equity in terms of water and sanitation and to provide local solutions a number of city slum studies were conducted by CWAS.
