Ahmedabad Slum Atlas

In 2009, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation conducted a slum census in the city as well as a total station survey for every slum locality. CEPT University support was sought by AMC to develop a slum information system. With the help of Mahila Housing Trust (MHT), CEPT carried out verification of slum surveys and updated the information on a GIS platform in 2010. A Slum Atlas was developed which was further used in preparation of a Slum Free City Action Plan under the Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY).
