Moving towards Climate Resilient WASH services - Case of 3 cities in Maharashtra

This coffee table book depicts the journey of the cities of Vita, Ichalkaranji, and Karad towards carbon-neutral and climate-resilient WASH services. Led by the local governments and supported by the Center for Water and Sanitation (CWAS), the initiative showcases innovative approaches including WASH service chain assessments, energy audits, GHG emission inventories, scheduled desludging programs, SHG-led operations and maintenance, and renewable energy demonstrations. Through collaboration, capacity building, and community engagement, the project highlights practical pathways for strengthening urban water and sanitation systems while advancing climate action.
