Municipal Finance in Small and Medium Towns (2020)

In India, typical studies on municipal finance tend to focus on municipal corporations while the financial health of small and medium towns is overlooked. This research focuses on finances of small and medium towns across the country. It first compares budget-making process, acts, laws and accounting manuals across nine states and then compares the budget structure of individual cities in these states. Finally, it uses this background to analyze and infer the health of 14 small and medium cities in Gujarat.
