Dhwani has been associated with the Center for Water and Sanitation (CWAS), CEPT University since 2017. Her work focuses on strengthening urban water and sanitation systems across India through WASH monitoring using the Performance Assessment System (PAS), municipal finance, data systems, and policy support. She has supported over 800 urban local bodies in improving service delivery, investment planning, and financial sustainability.
She has been actively involved in the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTPs) and has worked on initiatives exploring resource recovery, including methane capture from wastewater systems. Her experience also includes developing assessment frameworks, supporting state governments, and contributing to sector studies and capacity building. Her key areas of interest include climate-resilient WASH systems, inclusive sanitation, water security, and sustainable urban infrastructure. She holds a postgraduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning (Infrastructure Planning) from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, and is a member of the Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI).
