Training Workshop and Health Camp for all Sanitation Workers, Wai Municipal Council

As a part of our work on safety and inclusivity under the CWIS program being implemented in the city of Wai, a study on understanding the sanitation workers was conducted. The study focused on the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The findings of this study were used to draft recommendations for the Wai municipal council (WMC). The recommendations were implemented by WMC, resulting in an overall improvement in the working conditions of all sanitation workers in Wai. The report showcases how sanitation worker safety has been institutionalized in Wai. A training workshops were conducted at Wai in November 2019 and August 2021, which included training on the use of PPEs, gender sensitization of workers, and health camps.
