ODF Framework of Government of Maharashtra

The Swachh Maharashtra Mission has defined a process of 'granting' ODF status to cities. However, the Government of Maharashtra envisages 'ODF Communities' moving towards 'ODF+ and ODF++ Communities' by addressing entire service chain of sanitation and not focusing only on number of toilets constructed. In order to encourage this, a concept of 'ODF+ Cities' and 'ODF++ Cities' has been developed.
