Community Engagement Events - Making villages secure for drinking water and waste management facilities

CWAS is supporting 50 villages in 3 blocks of Palghar district of Maharashtra (Mokhada, Dahanu, Palghar) by engaging with communities and local governments. The project at CWAS is supported by HDFC Bank’s Parivartan Programme. Demonstration projects initiated under this project include rainwater harvesting structures, development and revival of wells, groundwater recharge structures, mini piped water schemes, water treatment systems and water quality surveillance. Further, awareness and training activities on waste management and water security are focused on school children, women self help groups and "Jalsurakshak" citizen volunteers.
